Remember when Victoria’s Secret had that little beauty store connected to it selling lotions, makeup, and perfume? What? No, you now think I am old!? Maybe so young grasshopper maybe so. But some of you ladies know what I am talking about. When VS made nail polish in a bottle design Christian Louboutin stole for his nail polish many years later. Those were the days. Balmy Nights was the best lip balm I had ever encountered and for years after they stopped selling it, I guarded my little pots of that gold like it was well…. actual gold. Did you see the spot price of gold a few years ago? This was some serious guarding.
Bite Beauty felt my pain of the inadequate lip balm market. They must have had chemists who grew up in the midwest where that winter wind whips all of the moisture out of you. Someone over there is getting a hug if I ever find out who they are. Bite’s Agave lip mask is amazing. Put this on before you go to sleep. Every night. Every. Night. I put a little bit on before I put on lipstick if I am a little parched. Not that I normally am parched since I try like hell to maintain proper hydration levels.
This stuff is magic. Absolute magic. I hesitated to buy it because I was so over the agave craze. One day a nice young lady who worked at Sephora swore by the stuff so I gave it a try. Life changing. Well for anyone who lives where winter is a thing will agree. Or maybe the desert.
It is thick. Like putting on a paste. Hence the term mask. It is so wonderful that you really only need it at night. A tiny bit pre-lipstick maybe. But I wouldn’t walk around all day putting this on. That seems like overkill. Feel free to use your favorite gloss by day.
How do you keep your lips kissably soft?
