Jurlique Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Cleansing Mousse

This Jurlique Herbal Recovery cleanser is a gem.  Most cleansers are either too drying or too moisturizing.  This one just cleans your face and rinses away.  My skin felt like skin afterward.  Not desperate for moisturizer or coated in some weird film.  Just nice clean skin.  I was amazed.  This is not cheap.  Sadly such perfection comes at a price.  If I ran out of this herbal recovery cleanser and no sale was on the horizon I would shell out the full price $34 for 5 oz of this.  Thankfully it is usually available somewhere on sale.

This is a foaming cleanser.  It says on the bottle it’s a foaming cleanser oil.  Having used oil cleansers I can tell you I never would have guessed this was a cleansing oil.  Never.  It’s lovely.  The texture is pleasant.  Does not leave any residue as most cleansing oils do.  The smell is very subtle.  Definitely an herbal smell, not medicinal herbal just cooking herbal smelling.  Thyme rosemary kind of smell.  The scent washes away and doesn’t linger.  I have forgotten to put on any toner, serum, moisturizer after using this some nights because my skin feels so nice.  If I am really tired I can just crawl into bed after using this and wake up with a nice face.  That said I almost always do use toner, serum, moisturizer.  But that is saying something if I am not desperate to run for moisture after using this cleanser.  So gentle.

I will say that I am an advocate of makeup removal prior to cleansing.  I would not use this to remove makeup.  People, please use some kind of make removing wipes before using a cleanser.  It just works better.  I don’t care if it’s baby wipes because they are cheaper or that cool reusable makeup eraser or trendy micellar water and cotton pads.  Remove makeup prior to cleansing for best results in general.  I hope this Jurlique cleanser review helped you find a new favorite cleanser.  It’s surprisingly difficult to find a cleanser that works with your own unique body chemistry.

What is your favorite cleanser?
